Frequently Asked Questions

Many of our customers have specific questions about our professional maid services. Here are just a few of the frequently asked questions we hear at Cleaning Company.

General Questions

How long does it generally take the carpet to dry?

If we are cleaning via Hot Water Extraction somewhere around 6-10 hours, depending on the condition and type of carpet.  If we are cleaning Very Low Moisture somewhere around 2 hours.

How long does it generally take for the tile and grout too dry?

If we are just cleaning the tile and grout, it will be dry before we leave. If we sealed the grout, it may take 3-4 hours for the sealer to dry.

What do we do about our pets?

We ask that all pets be put up so they are not loose in the house. We require a door to be open so our hoses can come into the home or business.  We do not want your pets escaping.

What about furniture?

We move very little furniture. The majority of the time just the owner, Tom will be the person cleaning your home. It’s hard for one person to move furniture safely. If you would like the areas under your furniture cleaned, please have it moved prior to our arrival.  We can move a few small items that have been cleared of all contents.  We will put foam blocks or plastic tabs under them when done.  We do charge for this service because it takes more time and supplies.

Do you guarantee that you can get up all the spots and stains.

No. We will do our best to get up the spots and stains in the carpet and upholstery. In general, our clean solutions are designed to eliminate most spots and do so. Spots or stains requiring extra time and special cleaning solutions will be billed at 25.00 per 15 minutes to time spent cleaning. We do not guarantee we will eliminate/remove the spots or stains.

Our animals have wet on the carpet, what now?

Urine is or can be pretty tricky to deal with. We have a special UV light to help find the location of the urine. If it is a small spot we can do a topical treatment and eliminate the color and odor. If its a large spot we will have to do a sub surface cleaning. This is where we pour the solution on the spot and let it soak up to an hour then extract it using a special tool. We would be happy to discuss the options with you.

Where are you going to park your truck?

In general we will usually bring our hoses in through your front door or garage. I generally look at Google Maps to see what your home looks like so I have a general idea of where I will need to park. We ask that the drive way is empty so we can back our large van into the driveway safely.

We have some area rugs that need to be cleaned.

We would be happy to clean your area rugs for you. Synthetic rugs like polypropylene, nylon, acrylic can generally be cleaned in your home. Wool, viscose or silk rugs need to be taken to our shop or a speciality shop to be cleaned. We keep rolls of plastic on our van and will put plastic under the rugs to be cleaned if they are on hardwood floors. This helps protect your floors and helps eliminate any liability. Heavy thick rugs, rugs with urines in them need to be flushed out and that can not be done in a home. This takes extra time, chemicals and sometimes requires 2 people to move and wash the rugs. Off site cleaning is more expensive and can take 2-4 weeks to be completed. If we need to take your rug to a specialty shop to be cleaned you will be given their name and contact information so you can speak with them directly incase you have specific questions. We except no responsibility if rugs are taken to a specialty cleaner.
